Brock's jaundice treatment
Wednesday, June 4, 2008
Brock Brandon has arrived!
Brock arrived on May 29th at 7:47pm at 5 pounds 11 ounces and 19 inches long. He's a perfect little gift from God! We were able to be with him right after birth and then later that evening we got to give him his first bath and first bottle too. He came home with us on May 31st. He's been doing some jaundice treatments, but other than that he is perfect!
Our exciting update!
Sorry for the delay! We've had a VERY busy 2 weeks. We got the call on May 19th that we had been chosen by a birth mother and she was due on June 10th with a Baby Boy. We were thrilled and on vacation in Florida that week, but scheduled a time to meet the birth mother that chose us on May 27th. Well, on May 27th we met her and everything went really well and also found out some exciting news...that she would be induced on Friday, May 30th. So we made plans to finish out our work weeks and head up to the hospital to stay until he arrived. Then on May 28th, they called and said "new plan", she would be induced at 5:30 pm that night. So we gathered up our bags and headed out to make our trip 2 hours away. We got there and things had changed again...she wasn't quite ready yet and would instead be induced early on Thursday morning. So we stayed in a hotel and got to visit with our birth mother for about an hour or so...just hanging out in her hospital room.
The next day, knowing it would probably be a long day, we headed to the hospital about 9am to wait for his arrival. He was way stubborn and didn't make his grand entrance until May 29th at 7:47pm.

Construction Zone
We don't have any new updates at this time. Just waiting and praying!
However, we have begun to create our nursery and are in the process of clearing out enough room for a baby. It's a good thing we've got some time...we've got a lot of work to do. We're clearing out one of our guest bedrooms...moving furniture, painting furniture and clearing out closets. And with no urgency in site...it's easy to say "we'll do it tomorrow".

FAQ: Do we get to choose who we adopt?
We have got a lot a great questions from family and friends and thought we would go ahead and enter the answers online for all to learn a little more about the adoption process. So please let us know if you have a question...we'd love to answer it for everyone to view.
FAQ: Do we get to choose who we adopt?
During our application process we filled out a questionnaire that have all the details about everything about our future child that could come up...gender, race, age, special needs, birth mother's health, birth father's health, willingness to have an open adoption, etc. You can choose "Yes", "No" or "Willing to Consider". By putting "No" the adoption agency will not approach you with any part of what you don't want. However, by putting "Yes" or "Willing to Consider" you can be presented a lot of different items to consider with your adopted child. We have decided to be open to a lot of different situations on the questionnaire. We could have been very specific with any part of the questionnaire and even asked for a certain gender. However, the more specific you are the longer you may have to wait for the exact case you are looking for...so you must become very patient.
Our hope is that we will adopt exactly who God has always intended for us to adopt. So stay with us to see who joins our family in the future.
